The Dance of The New Strings

I got new strings today. Woot!
Thanks to the good graces of the lovely Victoria, I was able to order new strings for five of my guitars. I bought some fretboard cleaner, as well. I’ve already changed the strings on my Alembic bass and my Ovation six-string acoustic. The fretboard cleaner did wonders on both. Gods, I’m a worthless piece of shit for letting those instruments get in that shape. I’ve been so caught up in my own melodramatic posturing that I didn’t notice that my guitars have been neglected. You have to take care of instruments.
Well, two of them are happier today. I’ll probably do the Destroyer tomorrow. I don’t know when I’ll get around to doing the Strat and the 12-string acoustic. Either one of them will be a pain the ass. But I’m excited about getting them cleaned up and re-strung.
I’m especially excited because this means that I’ll be able to record now. There’s no way I could have gotten a decent sound without new strings. My poor Alembic was just dead. And the strings on my acoustic were so dirty that I’d stopped playing it entirely. Now that I’m able to bring them back to life, I think it’s high time I stopped talking about recording and get something down.
