CD BABY STORE
Buy my compact discs and mp3 downloads here. Initially I'll just use it for the main releases, but in the long run, who knows?

Generally speaking, the idea is to post CDRs on CD Baby, with the intent of getting the digital distribution rolling on iTunes and Amazon.com (who, among others, sell mp3s, if you didn't know). Hopefully I'll make enough money (eventually) to get some professionally manufactured compact discs made.

I fully intend to bypass the record labels and the industry altogether (if possible). I don't need to be rich. I don't want to be a star. I just want to make a living. And I don't want to have to turn my work into a corporate commodity to do so.

But we'll see. I don't like the idea of selling CDRs, but who the hell can afford to have CDs mastered. Isn't that sort of the point of the whole independent musician thing?

I suppose you could say my intent is to use CD Baby to distribute my work to the masses. I figure my old friends will get my music directly from the web site and Wic Store. CD Baby is how I'll reach the unsuspecting.

Please don't write and tell me about how CD Baby sucks. CD Baby is a marketing tool. Nothing more. If you sign up for an account at CD Baby and expect that the world will soon fall at your feet, you're kidding yourself. I don't expect miracles. But CD Baby, combined with many other things, can definitely be an asset.
