An oldie, but a goodie. This version of the song was recorded sometime in early 1989. It was largely improvised and was recorded on a cassette 4-track recorder. The title has since been shorted to “Proteus”.
The keyboard parts (textures, piano, strings, horns and drums) came from a Korg M1. Bass was my Alembic Spoiler run through a Rockman X-100 guitar amp. Guitar was my Fender Stratocaster with its original pickups, run through a Rockman X-100.
This recording was re-mixed and re-mastered on October 20, 2009. This is the version that’s posted here.
