New Year’s Day. The calendar rolled over as we arrived in Dandridge, Tennessee to fuel. A few truck drivers were setting off fireworks in the parking lot. I didn’t feel much of anything. I sent out the obligatory New Year’s sentiments by e-mail, but mostly just find myself hoping that 2004 will be a pretty good year. I’m certainly trying to head into it with a positive attitude, if not a lot of excitement. There are no resolutions. Just pliable intentions and a little hope.
