    • OBITUARY:

      KINGS MOUNTAIN - Joe Dixon "J.D." Rhea Sr., 71, 622 Meadowbrook Road, died Aug. 4, 2001, at Kings Mountain Hospital.

      He was a native of Kings Mountain, son of the late Grady A. and Dora Dixon Rhea, served in Air Force as staff sergeant during Korean War, retired supervisor with Lithium Corp., Bessemer City, member of Quarter Century Club, American Legion Otis D. Greene Post 155, First Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain.

      SURVIVORS: Wife, Martha Sue Chaney Rhea, Kings Mountain; son and daughter-in-law, Joe Dixon and Sarah M. Rhea Jr., Kings Mountain; daughters and son-in-law, Roxanne Rhea and Eddie Mauney, Kings Mountain, Debra Rhea Walker, Boiling Springs; brothers, Jack Rhea, Kings Mountain, Clyde Rhea, Grover, Bill Rhea, Atlanta; sisters, Wilma Hinson, Hazel Folding, Douglas, Ga., Doris Hamrick, Kings Mountain, Linda Sanders, Chester, S.C.; grandchildren, Chad and Heather Walker, Ryan and Sarah Jane Mauney, Trent Rhea.
