I’ve finally begun working in earnest on my novel and album, both of which will be titled Blood & Chartreuse. The novel is about a vampire named Crewe, who finds himself swept away by events. I won’t bore you with details, other than to say that my concept of vampires have little, if anything, to do with the Hollywood notion of the undead.
I hope to get the novel published sometime in the summer of 2010. The album will most likely be released before then, depending on how much work I get done in the next couple of months. Largely I see the novel and album as compliments to one another, and would dearly love to see them sold as a set. I don’t know if there are many publishing companies who are that forward thinking, but it has occurred to me that if worse come to worse, I have no problem with publishing the novel myself. I certainly intend to release the album as an independent.
If you want to know more about the novel, you can find sample chapters on the Blood & Chartreuse Headline page in the writing section. I’ve recently submitted the first three chapters of the novel to a competition, and you can read those chapters here. I’ll also be marketing the novel more aggressively to other publishing companies in the coming months.
You can find more information about the album in the Blood & Chartreuse Headline page in the music section, where you’ll be able to read the lyrics and listen to audio samples.
