The biggest assholes on the highway? U.S. Xpress. I always took exception to such sentiments when I was in the red truck. But it really is true. I rarely pass a USX truck without having to fight the driver for the lane. They rarely say thank you if you signal one that he can get […]

100 Miles To Go
Trying to make my delivery so that I can sleep. Except for a few painfully short 10-15 minute naps, I’ve been up since about 06:00 yesterday morning. I’m not in the best shape. On the bright side, I have just 100 miles to go. Then I can sleeeep.
Words For Mara
I wrote a poem about Mara today. I think it’s just going to be called “Words for Mara” (which fits the poem). She’s been really down lately and this is sort of a response to some things she’s said. Hopefully I can cheer her up some on New Year’s.
Words for Mara
This is not what I wanted, she said. Life should be more, she said. I agreed, straining to see her point. I can’t see much detail anymore. I would write my confession but my knuckles pop when I grasp a pen or, well, anything. I watch her sad face but she sits to the side […]
Harsh On Mara
I’m pretty harsh on Mara in my blog sometimes. That bothers me, because I often write things out of frustration, and there’s nothing to balance it out. I don’t tend to write about how very much I love her or how much I respect her intellect and appreciate her tenacity. I never write about what […]
Quiet Over Christmas
Was just thinking about how blissfully quiet it was over Christmas. No Jake! That means no god-damned dog barking at our house constantly. It meant we could go out in our back yard without triggering a barrage of noise that would go on for hours and hours. I don’t dare hope that fucking dog is […]
Christmas In The Trenches
Thanks to Janis Page for bringing this to my attention. I hope those who can will go and listen to this song. – Wicasta Lovelace Christmas In The Trenches By John McCutcheon ======= On Christmas Day, 1914, in the first year of World War I, German, British, and French soldiers disobeyed their superiors and fraternized […]
Nuclear Search Targets Muslims
Bush & Company have tried hard to shred the Constitution and most specifically the Bill of Rights. Thus far they’ve been unable to do so. Here I submit for your perusal more evidence of the Republican’s war against the American people. – Wicasta Lovelace December 24, 2005 BY NIRAJ WARIKOO FREE PRESS STAFF WRITER Federal […]
Merry Merry & Happy Happy
It’s mildly ironic that on Christmas Day I can find little joyous news to pass on the members of The Watch mailing list. That’s the way it goes when the Grinch is in charge, I guess. I haven’t come across a lot of people who have the Christmas spirit this year. There are a lot […]
Bush Vs. America
I’ve been thinking all week about what I wanted to write about President Bush and his current crop of problems. Quite frankly, Bush has found himself in such hot water so often that I’ve hardly known where to begin. Needless to say, it hasn’t been a good couple of weeks for the President. He’s been […]
