Thinking About Claire

I stopped in Whitsett, NC at a truckstop to check my e-mail. I discovered, much to my surprise, that Claire had three friend requests and a message waiting for her on MySpace (poor Agnon had none). This leads me to the obvious question. Do I reveal to these people that Claire is a fictional character and that her MySpace page was designed solely as a tie-in to the novel she is a part of, or do I observe the social interaction differences between the way people respond to her and Agnon?
However intriguing the prospect of the observations regarding the latter might be, I feel like I’m obligated to be truthful here. For one thing, I would have to role-play if I responded to any of these people, and I’m just not interested in doing that. So I really should put up a notice on Claire’s MySpace page (as well as Agnon’s) stating that she’s not real. I haven’t done that yet because I’ve been considering how to incorporate that into the page without disrupting the feel of it.
But Claire is clearly attracting admirers (which means I chose a good picture). I need to get that disclaimer up there soon.
